Well my HP PS 120 camera has managed to kill 2 128meg compact flash cards. If put in the camera, the camera won't turn on. If it's plugged into the USB adaptor when starting up an iMac with 10.2.8, it sits at the "Waiting for Local Disks" screen until it's unplugged. I haven't tried anything with them now that I have Tiger and I won't be able to do anything right away (they're at school, I go back next week) but I wondered if anyone had ideas on what's wrong or what I could do to get them working again, as I'd like to have them for a project I've got going. Any help?

Wait until the computer is booted, plug one in to the reader and fire up Disk Utility. Perhaps formatting the cards will solve the problem.

If either card is plugged in before disk utility is started up, the spinny thing just spins until i unplug the card. If I plug it in after disk utility is started, it just doesn't show up. Is there a more powerful app I could try and use?

Sounds to me like they're fried, not just corrupted.
