My uncle recently bought an iMac. He bought an Imation USB floppy drive to go with it. When I asked him why he bought this drive instead of a SuperDisk drive, he told me that the salesman at CompUSA told him that the SuperDisk drive has been discontinued.

Does anyone know if this is true? Has the SuperDisk drive been discontinued or has this particular CompUSA run out of USB SuperDisk drives and tricked my uncle into buying an inferior (and in stock) item?

Someone has to know the answer.

I work for a reseller company that sells Imation products. We have received no word of the USB SuperDrive being discontinued. We have about 200 in stock and have ETA dates for future shipments extending into November. There is also no mention at www.superdisk.com about the drive being discontinued. I'm sure it was someone at CompUSA trying to get the sale.

What a relief! My USB Superdisk is excellent (2X PC/Mac model). I wish Imation would upgrade it to a 4x 300MB version though But you can't beat it for versatility (120MB and 1.4MB floppies in one drive).........joe
