I just purchased an Apple USB Pro Extended Keyboard for my 1st gen iMac DVSE. The Keyboard itself works beautiful. The function keys are the problem. Now, before you refer me to other articles I have tried the software update prescribed in this forum. But they still don't work. Can someone help?

I heard they won't work. EVER. Specifically the disk eject. The new imacs have some special firmware to take advantage to the keyboard.

It will work, just the new four new keys won't until Apple releases Mac OS 9.1 (or you copy the USB drivers from a new Mac to your Mac).

Go to http://macsupport.about.com/compute/...y/mcurrent.htm and follow the directions. . you will have to either restart with the extensions off or trash the older versions of the extensions, but after a restart, ALL the buttons work fine!! My older Graphite 400 MHZ DV mutes, increases or decreases volume & ejects the CD.
