Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knows if the D-Link USB Digital Video Camera (Model DSB-C100, specifically) is Mac compatible. D-Link makes no mention of this on their web site, but I was hoping that perhaps Apple includes generic USB video drivers and that would allow me to view the video with some sharware program (BTV comes to mind) or maybe some one else's drivers would work. Anyone else looked into this?

(I ask because it's free after rebates in the local Circuit City ad and I thought it was a cool thing to have.)

Mac compatible? Sort of. the cd has mac drivers BUT it froze the mac literally every other time i tried to use it. The instructions for the mac are about 2 pages of like 30. The mac drivers on the CD are "Beta0418" and i don't see _any_ mac drivers on their ftp.It also includes some mac software called MGI PhotoSuite SE

Maybe it'll get better but i have my doubts. But hey it was free

one more thing. if you plug it in to the keyboard then you get a message that this device requires more power than avaliable(ie plug it directly into the usb port instead of a usb bus)

That's actually encouraging news. I never seem to have any of the highly publicized software or hardware conflicts that everyone else does, so maybe it'll work well for me. *knocks on wood*

Thanks for the info.

Dave
