See the first item, an infrared USB interface. It says this comes with Windows drivers, but wouldn't this item work without drivers as long as you have regular usb drivers? and hence work on a mac?

It might, but I wouldn't bank on it. It probably need it's own kind of driver as well as the normal USB drivers.
