I cannot find any other Mac store online which list the new Apple Pro mouse. Can it be "had" for less than $59?

Thanks for your comments.

Personally, I would get a better optical mouse (one with more buttons and scroll wheel) like the MS Intelli Mouse, which might be found for 40-50$.

I tried the MS optical mouse with wheel a few times but now I find it a tad too big. Also, I have a six year old son that might have problems with its size. I do wish that Apple offered the same mouse with a wheel option.

Thanks to all for your comments.

Try Logitech's Optical Wheel Mouse. It's the perfect size for child and adults. Not to mention it has 2 buttons and a scroll wheel. You can get it almost anywhere for about $30. Check it out at this page at Logitech's website.

richv77, did you mess with the Intellimouse Explorer or the normal Intellimouse. The explorer is huge and kinda cheap feeling. They don't make the normal looking right handed Intellimouse with IntelliEye anymore (at least it seems that way). They've replaced it with a 4 button hand-neutral mouse that still looks smaller than the Explorer.

Just to go your local CompUSA and grope all their mice to see what you like best.

Not sure if I can convert you, but I have two trackballs and I couldn't do my work without them (the mouse is for gaming).
Only takes a month to get used to it. Not much to pay for saving your wrists.

Guess what? Since you posted your first question, MacWeek is reporting that your local dealer will soon have mouses (meeses, mices?) keyboards and other stuff that had been exclusive to the Apple Store.

MacNN reported it this morning and linked to this story:

Thanks for you comments. I think it was the explorer - it's silver and red. A friend of mine said the same thing once he started using a trackpad. I tried it but gave up after 10 minutes.
