I just bought a QueFire firewire CDRW and found out that I can't burn a disk image with it. Specifically, I want to burn an ISO disk image without mounting it first (it is a Yellowdog Linux image and mounting the image first seems to mess it up bigtime.)

I know that I can buy Toast deluxe, but it seems unfair that
1) the PC software that comes with the drive can burn a disk image.
2) The prior version of Toast that shipped with earlier drives could burn a disk image. It seems that this important function was removed with Toast 4.0.

Is there a way to burn the CD image using Mac OSX using a unix tool? How do you access the firewire drive in Mac OSX?

Thanks
