I need to make a drive tower. I need to pick up some FireWire IDE Bridges. At least 3 of them. Unless they are dual channel. And they need to be firewire 400 not 800. And they don't need to have USB. And I'm not paying $80 each for them thats insane. Anyone know a good place to get them at good prices? (Worst case I can search around for a good sale and buy whole firewire enclosures for $30 and gut the boards out of them, but in theory it should be even cheaper to just buy the boards.)

Although it makes sense that just buying the boards would be cheaper- there is not a very big market for standalone boards, and therefore the cost of them individually would be high in order for a seller to remain profitable (as evidenced by the $80 figure you say). The people who buy standalone boards are manufacturers who probably get them for a dollar apiece but they are buying in lots of 10000 or even higher.
I don't have any specifics but I think the el cheapo enclosure and just stripping out the boards might actually be the cheapest way in the end.

That is one but its single channel, a dual channel would take 4 drives. But at $60 thats not a deal. Looks like gutting enclosures is the way to go.

My bad. I thought those were the boards I bought.

l008com, instead of making someone else (who has already pointed you in the right direction) finish up your homework for you, why not just look at that company's website yourself? Sheesh. It took me all of a minute to find the following:

I've already spent hours searching every web site I could find including that one. A $65 board is not what I'm looking for.
