i've had a set of Sony MDR-V6's for about 4 years now and they work excellently. i'm not sure what your specs are for "heavy and large", but they are probably pretty small sized studio headphones. it has the best sound of pretty much every set of headphone's ive ever used and blocks out ambient noise pretty well.

Koss Porta Pro worked fine for me. They are small enough to take with me (I have a nano now, so having a tiny iPod and huge headphones it not an option ).

Sennheiser PX100--cheap (I got mine for 40 or 50 dollars), sound great for the price, and fold up into a nice little plastic carrying case.

I strongly recommend them. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106333

I just want to second this recommendation, I love my Sennheisers. Having said that, if I were doing it again, I'd think about the wireless ones from Logitech.

Sennheisers are terrific. I have a pair of HD497's that have lasted me 3 years. Maybe more.

I like my Sony MDR-7506... not a huge fan of the newer Sonys.
