Hi,
My 23" inch cinema display is starting to flicker near the top of the screen, about an inch wide across the width.
It flickers like a lightbulb going out, and it's pretty faint but noticeable.
Has anyone heard of this? Thanks!
Tom

Call apple and pray it is under warranty.

It's probably not under warranty, as it's about a year and a half old. I didn't get apple care for it. I guess I'll just take it into apple.
What causes this?

I should also mention that I have two displays hooked up to the video card, both cinemas.
I unhooked the second one and now notice that the flicker has gone away. Could the video card be flaking?

Hi Tom,
I am having the same problem --- flickering on the 23" cinema display, only across the top. It is faint but bothersome. I, too, have another display hooked up --- an older 17" studio display. I am using a G5 dual processor PowerMac to run both of them. The flickering is not constant and will be gone for long periods of time. Any help would be appreciated.

I ended up taking it to apple and it cost me $470 to repair. I am never buying an apple display again, as this problem happened 6 months out of warranty, and they had nothing for me.
I'd rather buy a dell screen at this point.
All bad. No Good.

Why should they have something for you? You were out of warranty. You knew the terms of Apple's warranty's conditions when you bought it. Should of bought AppleCare.

You can't buy AppleCare for a display unless you buy a PM or PB at the same time; some other companies (like Dell) include a 3 year warranty by default without requiring you to buy another $1500 piece of hardware.
