Someone is donating to me a 8600/180 with 17" monitor, which will replace my bedroom 15" TV as soon as I have a PCI TV Card inside the Mac. What I want to be able to do is record video from the TV tuner/composite video in and play it back later, just like a video recorder. Timer functions and all the bells and whistles are expected. Is this possible? What would the quality be like? Is there a PCI TV card on the market that will capture video and play back in full screen high quality that is equal to a good quality VHS tape? MPEG 1 isn't that bad. MPEG 2 (aka DVD) looks awesome if done correctly (e.g., Digital TV here in the UK looks crap, but it still uses MPEG 2 as DVD does, but DVD looks superb)

Any comments appreciated

Thanks

Stuart
