I have a LaCie 4x2x4 USB CD-rw drive, and it works fine with my iMac running os 9.0 and toast 3.8. However, neither toast 3.8 or 4 will see it on my iBook. When I plug it in, it says that my USBLacieDiskDriver is installed wrong. Reinstalling doesn't help. Upgrading to the latest version doesn't help. On their website, it says that that can mean that the os is conflicting with it and to remove the lacie extensions and just let the os deal with it, that doesn't work either.

Help?

Is the driver used by Toast to recognise the burner in order to write, or by the Finder in order to read and mount a CD inserted in the burner?
In the case of the latter, delete the extension for that... let Toast take care of it by itself...
You say you're running OS 9.0... upgrade to 9.04 ASAP.
Also, get Toast 4 Deluxe.
And check Adaptecs database to see if your burner is on their compatibility list.
