Ok, I just took a Voodoo 2 out of a Creative Labs Blaster PC...
Will it work with the G4?
Its in there right now... just gotta get drivers.
Anyone know where I can get them, if they exist?

Go to http://www.versiontracker.com

Type "3dfx" in the search box.

And there you go!

Hey, don't you need to flash the BIOS or something. I am not sure it can work straight away. Also keep in mind that a Voodoo 2 card cannot work on its own, it can only implement another card and require a cable to connect both cards together.

No, you do not need to flash the bios. My Voodoo 2 card works perfectly fine in my PowerMac 6500. All you need is a cross-over cable to connect your current graphics card into your Voodoo 2. Then turn off your ati 3d acceleration extensions in your extensions folder. It might not be as good as the ATI Rage 128, but it works better then my Rage II. :-)

Hm... I was planning on doing dual monitors with it.
Can I do that?
For that I would need to have both going.
And what kind of cable do I need to hook them together?

The Voodoo2 does not have Mac compatible 2D graphics, hence you can't use it for dual monitors.
You need the regular cable that came with the card to connect the two cards. Connect the VGA out on your G4's gfx card to the Voodoo2's VGA in, and connect your monitor to the Voodoo 2's VGA out. The connectors point out which goes where. If you'd have had an 'old' PowerMac (with Apple's monitor connector) you would have needed an additional VGA to Apple adapter (to connect a VGA monitor to the Apple video port) and plug the Voodoo2 cable in there.

Damn... oh well, I guess there's no point keeping it in there, apart from bragging rights... "I have 2 video cards! Shove that up your wintel!".
How about a TNT 1? Could I do duals with that?
Are there drivers?
I can get one of those too...

You might consider a PC Voodoo 3 2000 or 3000 PCI card. There have been some discussions about this at http://www.voy.com/8627/ recently, you may like to check it out.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I can get the TNT for free, and got the Voodoo free, so, I aint looking to pay if I can avoid it. Dual monitors for me would basically be a gimicky thing, not something I NEED.
Know what I mean?
Neway, thanks for replies

It's not that the V2 hasn't got mac-compatible 2d graphics, it's just that it hasn't got any 2d graphics (it doesn't output 2d end of case). It can only be used in cnjuction with another graphics card which will then output to the monitor...
