I'm having a major shift around of machinery and am trying to hook up an old Apple Blue and White LCD display to my Mirrored Drive Door G4 tower.

It's been a few years since I looked at the connectors on the old display but they certainly don't match up with anything on the back of my MDD. What's that extra cable going out to an input on my Blue & White G3 who's symbol is clearly something proprietary from the distant past? I found a specs page at apple but it didn't have the info I need.

Anyone remember this display who can provide suggestions on making this graft? I'm going to start rooting around in my storage closet for manuals or adapters that might have come with it but it has been a while.

Thanks

That display should have a VGA cable and an ADB cable.

Exactly, you just need a VGA to DVI converter… I think the MDDs came with one, or maybe you could find someone that has a spare one, ATIs graphic cards used to come with that kind of adaptor.

I keep all those little apparently useless tidbits that come with stuff so I most likely have something useful ..... somewhere. Thanks for the info. Maybe I can get this whole plan rolling.

Sure you can, I have uploaded a couple of picts to help you in the search for those items… excuse the crappy picture quality but I don't want to make them huge to load…

here you can see the ATI adaptor

and here the Apple adaptor (OMG this pict is really bad)

hope this helps.

It seems I actually have two of those Apple ones to in my vast collection of parts and pieces that seem to fit the bill. Thanks for the pic. I never would have thought to try using any of these new white adaptors with the old dusty display.

Now on to the next step!

Thanks again.
