Hello all.
I'm looking for some small device that can record some live audio, and then which I can transfer to my computer, and eventually put it on a cd. I'm sure being at best buy or office depot or something I sorta recall seeing small little stick things which look like they recorded something. Does any one know of something that can do this? Man I wish I had a laptop, as that would be so easy then..Any help will be of great help. Also, it has to be a half way decent recording in terms of quality. Thanks everyone, and have a great holiday!!

You don't necessarily need something digital with a USB connector and software drivers for a Mac. You can record with any analog device you want, as long as it has output jacks. You can then hook this up to the sound input jack on your Mac and use a freeware tool like Coaster to digitize it for you. (Nice tool, by the way.)
Not sure what you'd use in the way of a digital device.

Basically I would just tape record it or something, but I'm off at college, and really don't have any of that. I want to record this piano piece for my girlfriend, and since I don't have a piano and have to go somewhere to play one, I need something sorta small that would be easy to take with me and do the recording. But you are right, it doesn't ahve to be like designed for the mac and all with usb and such..just something that will record something, and which I can then output from the device into my mac, and play with it from there. Thanks everyone!!

Sony sells a basic tape recorder / player for about 26 bucks. It'll work just fine for what you want and it won't kill your budget. And it's very easy to input to your hard drive.
