I don't see the Apple Protection Plan available for the 17" Studio Display.
(What is the warrantee? 90 days?)

Anyway; the store has offered me an extended protection plan for 2 years for $199 ... is it worth it? Or should I not worry about it.

Thanks in advance ...

The warranty from Apple is one year. This should be fine; a monitor doesn't have any moving parts like a computer does, so there is absolutely no need to buy an extended warranty. What store is offering you an extended warranty for $199. That's 20% of the price of the screen, which is high for a monitor only! If you were buying a computer and monitor, I would consider it, but for the monitor only you shouldn't spend the money!

Thanks for the reply.

It it safe to say that if a pixel isn't dead when you get it then it ain't gonna be dead later?

Also: What are the chances of the backlighting going bust in the first two years? (Which is all the extended warrantee would cover ... it's not beyond the manufacturer's warrantee)
