Well, while waiting for something else than that JR Hill ugly thaaang...

Remember that plastic protective film your iPod shipped in? Don't rip it to shreds when you get your iPod, just flip it around and cut out holes for the jog wheel and earphone plug (thus protecting your FW port AND cutting out the «don't steal music» warning! ).

It's not beautiful nor shock proof, but at least it'll protect your baby from scratches while awaiting for the nice cases to be... And it's transparent so you can still admire your iPod!
this lounge is a poor substitute to the bbq.

I think apple need to put more effort in making their beautiful product scratch proof ..
I mean ... I have to be so careful with my Tibook that, sometimes I think I am crazy ...... ~~
each and every time I picks it up or anything I'll use a pair of gloove, when I start to type on the keyboard, I'll put the glove right on top of where my hands will rest (next to the sides of trackpad) so my own hands won't scratch the surface ~~ ......

I'm considering buying some rubberized spray paint and coating the metal casing of the iPod with it. That'll make it much easier to grip onto, and less likely to scratch or show other wear and tear.

As for the TiBook, it is pretty hardy. I use mine in the tub all the time! (yeah yeah, I know, too much information...)

why are you scared of scratches?

i treat my powerbook nicely and thats it.

it has some scratches but not a lot. i like having it a liitle jacked up, then it really begines to feel like it's yours.

besides, it gives me an excuse to get the g5.

(i just bought this $3000 tibook, so i'm not "waiting" for the g5, i'm waiting for a reason to buy a new computer and that reason is the g5 baby!)

You're gonna be waiting a while -- I'd be surprised if we see a g5 next if -- if anything, it will be very late in the year next year.

Next year will mean new g4's (the "apollo" class G4s), which are sorta like G4.5's -- expect to see g4's throughout the year next year, at speeds over 1ghz.
