Hello all
I installed 2 x 256MB 133Mhz Ram in a G4 400Mhz AGP (the ones that still have 4Ram slots).
There were already 2 x 64MB ram... so now there is 640MB of Ram.
Prob is, its started going loopy.
Things are crashing, Applications say that files are missing... lock-ups, etc.
I booted off of TechTool 3.01 and ran tests. It said that Ram tests failed. It didnt say WHICH failed, but that there were certain tests (11111000000, and a couple others), that didnt give good results.
Apple System Profiler shows that they are fast , 222cas. The original 64MB ram is 222, and the other 64 is 322.
I've told the guy to take one stick out at a time (of the new Ram) and see how it goes.. if there are more crashes, etc.
Could it be the Ram that is causing for files to be missing (apparently)? And the apps crashing?
The first 24hours, everything was perfect. Nothing wrong, not a single crash.. I burned CDs, photoshopped, played games, etc. I dont recall installing anything new.
MacOS 9.1 with everything up to date.
Thanks for any feedback on what I can do.
