I am still waiting for my iPod to come from Amazon.com .

I have one question....I have over 2400 mp3's stored within iTunes. When I first sync the iPod how will it determine what songs to transfer since they all won't fit? Do I have a choice on the songs?[/LIST]

It won't. It'll tell you that you have too many and it won't work. You'll have to go into your iPod options which will be at the bottom of the iTunes window and select the Manual or Playlist syncing. Or you can just delete the songs you don't wanna use first in iTunes. Then, when you're below the max 4.6....gigs, then it'll autosync.

I only wish I could have all the songs I have on my iPod now, stay, and then change to Playlist mode and add new playlists with songs too update. But as of now, if you switched to the playlist option and say you only had 4 playlists with 100 songs, but 1000 songs in total. It would delete all of the other songs off of your iPod that weren't in those playlists. Sucks!

How does one delete a playlist in the iPod. I deleted it in iTunes and actually even recreated it with a different name. Throwing the new playlist on the iPod did nothing. The old one with the old name still exists. So how do you delete a playlist? I checked the invisible playlist file on the HD but it's just gibberish.

On my tower, I have a playlist just for the iPod and I have the prefs set to update that playlist. Then when I'm tired of the tunes on it, I dump the contents of that playlist(note this doesn't affect the "library" contents...anything you delete from the "library" you'll have to re-rip) and load up new tunes. I have 7.5 GB of MP3's and should double that in the next few weeks. If you double-clik on the iPod's playlist in iTunes(not the one on your 'Pod) the window that opens will show you how much room you have to put tunes in. The 'Pod will hold a max of 4.6 GB. You can also do a "get info" on the 'Pod's icon on the desktop to see how much room is on the pod. Then go to iTunes "file" menu and clik "update iPod". No need to unplug.
