Do I understand correctly, that OS X does not support the scroll wheel function on a mouse? What about the right button? Will 10.1 change anything? Thanks!

Right now with 10.0.4, the scroll wheel is only supported in Cocoa apps and not carbon. When 10.1 comes out (within a couple of weeks) carbon apps (including the Finder) will support the scroll wheel. But I believe the carbon apps will have to be updated as well. So in other words... once all carbon apps are optimized for 10.1 the scroll wheel will be completely supported.
