I think my 75Gb IBM Deskstar HD died on me. I noticed that it made some strange noise when I access certain files. I sound like:
ssshhhh....ssshhhh....shhhh < tick > ssshhh ssshhh ssshhh....tick

Almost like a scraping noise. So I ran Norton's Disk doctor and I got an unrecoverable error when it check the media. I was able to backup all my files except the ones that caused my hard to make that noise. Then I reformatted my hard drive with Drive Setup and clicked the "Test" button. Wouldn't you know it... I got a unrecoverable error. So it looks like my hard drive is toast. I purchased it back in March so it's still under the 5 year warranty. But where do I return it to for a replacement? The manufacturer...IBM or the place I bought it... gogocity.com?

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!
