My MacAlly keyboard freezes up -- won't type, etc. -- every time I start my iMac. I have to restart and then everything is fine. I have my keyboard routed through a 4-port USB hub that also controls a UMAX scanner and
Epson printer, so basically all my peripherals run through my keyboard. Any ideas on how to solve the problem?

Since updating to 9.2 my mouse and keyboard (a standard set from a dual533) don't initialize themselves on boot. You may not have to reboot your computer. Try unplugging and plugging them in, then the USB will reinitialize them and possibly get them working without a reboot.

Seems like we have a similar problem. I also have a hub for USB, but have the keyboard and mouse connected on its own port. The hub handles a wacom, handspring cradle and Logitech usb wireless wheel mouse with optical tracking. I've been suspect of the Logitech drivers, but think there is more to it than that.

Perhaps you might try and get by without everything and see if your problems go away without the hub. Perhaps the power drain is too much on the bus. I have a self-powered hub, is yours also?

The keyboard CANNOT be in a hub for it to function properly... it must go into the USB port on the computer, preferably in port 1.

That'll fix the problems. If it doesn't, unplug all other peripherals, and that will.
