Hey I was considering buying an Apple 23" Cinema display...
But I'm not sure weither I should save up, wait and purchase a Aluminum Cinema HD display 23" DVI from Apple and get the AppleCare along with it (Because many people seem to have dead pixel/burn problems with theirs) or...go with the old Cinema HD display 23" ADC from ebay or other sources.
Is it worth the risk going with an older one? Have many people had problems with them?
But if I go with an older version I have to purchase the ADC-DVI connection (100$) but...I will also be saving about 400$, but no AppleCare...

Have you considered the Dell 2405FPW? It's usually on sale for less than $900 and comes with a 3 year warranty.

Was it the Final Cut playback bug, or something else?

i asked her and shes positive that it was set to the highest setting. beh, bad monitor i guess. i know that more expensive doesnt always mean better, but when its part of your job, the best possible is always good. so in this situation the apple monitor won over the dell monitor. she had the monitor cable to the unit checked and rechecked at a couple differant places to see if there was something buggy with connections. nadda (that the people could find anyways) and she even had her comp connection checked and all was good. *shrug* never did find out what was wrong with it.

Your details are kinda vague, don't you think.
Unless you're doing "Pro" applications, I'm heard mostly good things about the Dell 24" displays.
