Hi folks,

I have 2 40Gb drives in my machine (Dual 533) at present but want to upgrade to a 120GB drive, using the two 40Gb drives as a Raid for my music collection which is only 25Gb at the moment but growing. I nervous about losing it all and having to rip everything again which would take forever.

Any thoughts as to advantages or disadvantages of this system? can anyone recommend a good EIDE PCI card that I could buy? The 40Gb drives are from different manufacturers and are different spindle speeds, does this matter in a Raid configuration? And would I benifit more from having the 40Gb drives on the internal EIDE card or the new card?

Thanks in advance
If it rained soup I'd have a fork in my hand!

I'm using Sonnet's Tempo ATA card in my quicksilver to power at least one, will eventually, two extra hard drives. I already have two 80 gig drives, one was stock and the other was added in, then I have the others connected to the ATA card. I'm using OSX, and the only thing I dislike is that the deep sleep function not longer works. Plus with OSX you can setup the drives for a raid if needed.
