well, this is a nice surprise. The logitech is available on Jan 31st from amazon.com for $99, free shipping. Logitech previously said it would be available in Feb. a day early!
a quick search on froogle and pricegrabber reveals cheaper prices elsewhere, but they either don't have it in stock or their really high shipping and handling fees makes it more expensive than amazon.com
i'll personally wait for it to come down to $80 or so. There's no reason to pay MSRP for any product, except for apple products.

A link and product description would have been nice.
Looks nice, what's the selling point of this though? Style? Designed just for Mac? It does look pretty nice if I didn't already have a set of Logitech stuff.

sorry about that, it was already mentioned in an old post, so i didn't think a product description was necessary.
The selling point is that it is the first wireless keyboard from logitech made specifically for the Mac. So far, they've had mac drivers for windows-centric keyboard and their older mac/pc wireless combos needed both a usb and ps2 slot. Since my new powebook/old mac mini lacked a ps2, it was useless.
So now, with the keyboard, you get the open apple and option key. also, it is bundled with a laser mouse. I've never had problems with my optical mouse, so i don't know if a laser mouse is going to rock my world.
My only complaint is that the wrist rest seems big and unnecessary. I wish it was detachable like the other desktop sets.
i tried the kensington set that macworld spoke so highly of, i was so disappointed in it that i never put in the batteries. The keys were THAT stiff. Now i wonder if MacWorld accepted a "donation" in order to have the kensington be their top choice. They never described the keyboard, just "we had no complaints [about the keyboard]"

I just got mine in today. Ordered it 2-day from Mac Connection but it got here in one.
The keys feel like most Logitech keyboards, maybe a a little stiffer. The keys are also lower then most keyboards which is an adjustment for me (over the Apple one). I do like the size but I would like to see the detachable wrist support. I've always liked the feel of Logitech keyboards so I was looking forward to this one for some time.
The mouse is my complaint. With the Logitech Control Center you can't assign the scroll button left/right to a keyboard sequence. The volume/mute buttons are kind of hard to get to. Again something to get use to. The keyboard already has volume buttons so currently I have Enter assigned to the Volume Up, Apple H to the Volume Down and Mute as Mute. I keep hitting the wrong button. I would have liked to have Apple H on the Left Scroll Click and Enter on the Right and then I probably won't have touched the volume buttons. It does seem that you can assign all other buttons however you wish.
Other then that it seems like a decent keyboard. If I start to hate the mouse I'll try USB Overdrive on it and see.

nerd, can you compare it to specific logitech models? i am currently using a LX500 (same as LX501) and I have also used the cordless elite duo (about 3 years old).

I believe I have the Cordless Elite Duo at work and can say I like that keyboard a little better because the keys are a little taller. What I've hated about all Logitech keyboards is the size of them. That's what attracted me to this keyboard, it's a lot smaller. Really I think it's just a time thing I need with this keyboard. I'm very picky and go though mainly mice (but have done keyboards) like crazy. If the Matias keyboard wasn't so loud I would take that one any day.
To me nothing compares to the MX 700 mouse. It's a very nice shape and the buttons are in a good place. I have a MX 1000 at work and it's also nice but the click wheel isn't firm enough so sometimes I'm doing a click in the wheel and it activates the horizontal scroll click. I don't know how the mouse on this one compares because the software won't let you assign a keystroke to the horizontal scroll.
I'll give it a week and let you guys know what I think.
Edit: The keyboard at work is the iTouch keyboard, older then the Elite Duo.

So nerd, how is it a month later? I'm considering getting one, but I've been a little slow to pull the trigger due to the lack of online user reviews.
Also, can you boot into single-user and safe modes with the keyboard? I don't see why not, but I know it was a problem early on with the BT sets so better safe than sorry.
Thanks in advance!
