The iBooks came with a whole stack of sample music in iTunes 2. Having seen the PR Video for the iPod, where it starts off by scrolling to the Dave Brubeck quartet, I'm curious as to whether the iPod too comes with sample music on it...

nope. mine didnt come with any sample music.

No, though I wasn't expecting it to. The "sampler" music that often comes with stuff is never to my liking anyway, so it's good to have Apple not pass on licensing costs for music I'm not going to listen to anyway. The press folks that attended the iPod intro on Apple's campus had tons of music loaded onto their sample iPods and were given the 20 CDs that the music was ripped from as well. Lucky!
