Anybody have pleasent experiences to report? looking to get a 60+gig external drive to use as my MP3 jukebox and as a general dumping area. The jukebox will be my 8600w/sonnet G4 and a orange micro FW pci card. Any good experiences with similar setups or just good experience with a particlar FW HD?

Other thing, lots of the drives i've seen have dual FW connections. Can i have the Drive connected and playing MP3's from my 86 and also have my pismo connected to the drive as well, copying whatnot back and forth?

thanks in advance

I have an external LaCie FW with my Orange Micro card in a beige G3, and I also use it with a B&W G3/Sonnet G4. I am happy with it.

You can't have 2 computers hooked up to it at the same time. At least not yet. I posted the same question a few weeks ago and was told rumor says new FW drivers from Apple may allow this in the future, but not now. With FW being hot swap, it isn't that bad. I can move it to either machine easily.

I got the 80GB Maxtor external for my music files and love it. Every once in a while, the partition images do not mount on the desktop. All I have to do is unplug and then replug the drive. I think it's because Maxtor FW externals drives require an extra extension.
