Are all DVD drives created equal?

	I'm curious about something... There are some really cheap DVD drives on Pricewatch.com that one can obtain instead of shelling out around 200-something dollars for a specifically labeled Mac compatible drive on Outpost.com. Here is what I'm wondering... does a DVD drive have to be specifically Mac compatible for it to work effectively, or can I just nab a generic one off of Pricewatch for cheap.
