Now that Apple dropped the price by a $1000, anyone here actually considering on buying one? Or is it too still too pricey?

Opinions.

I'll wait awhile, hoping the dollar keeps sliding in relation to the euro.

The weaker the dollar, the cheaper US imports will be here in Europe, so a few weeks might do wonders.

And of course, a weak dollar/strong euro would benefit Apple, as overseas sales would pick-up, as domestic sales seem to be slowing down due to local economy.

I got a Cinema Display with my cube with its old price and I can clearly tell you that it is spectacular. I have never enjoyed a piece of hardware so much, and really it is worth every dollar you pay for. I know it is not cheap at all, but when you use this thing you will understand what I am talking about.

I second that opinion. My ACD with the original (read: now considered dorky) power supply, usb, and DV plug is about to turn a year old. I got it just in time for a very high pressure project last spring, and it makes a difference at 4 o'clock in the morning. I hope to get at least another nine years service from it till something better comes along. And 1600 x 1200 rules!

Okay the cinema display is still too expensive for me.

But if the 15" display dropped in price by a third (from $800 to $500), then I would buy that. Any chance of that happening soon?
The 4 o'clock train will be a bus.
It will depart at 20 minutes to 5.

olePigeon,

If you have old eyes like mine and make a living in front of the screen, it's worth it. The resolution is great and the pixel sizes arent so small as to make text and icons hard to read. A lot less eye rubbing and headaches at all hours of the night and day. I was willing to pay for it at the higher price and got lucky that it reduced the evening before I picked it up.
