I've seen a few posts in the forums here of people that are happy with their SGI 1600 flat panel displays. Could one of you please email me the an original PICT file of a screen capture (command+shift+3)?

I am interested in this monitor but concerned that the 1600x1024 resolution will be too small to for comfort with my G4/500DP whihc I currently have a 17" CRT hooked up to at 1152x870. I want to be able to compare the actual icon and font sizes etc.

Thanks a million!

So, what conclusions did you reach? I haven't been able to see a SW in person, and with the multilink adaptor they appear to be hopelessly backordered.

Did you get the SGI? Or something else? I'm looking for a LCD (because of space issues) and am intrigued that my powerbook (firewire) could drive this monitor.

Thanks.

I ended up going with a Princeton Graphics SENergy750 17.4" LCD. I didn't like the minute resolution (1600x1200) the SGI used on a 17" display. I was able to see one finally in person at a trade show, its an awesome monitor but didn't fit my needs. The 750 I got is great using the digital input and ColorSync to adjust the temps & hues.
