Hi

What would be the best device to use as a backup solution for small software applications (Plugins and such)?
Zip; CDRW, external HD or 2.nd internal HD?

These files are ment to be put away for storage, so i don`t need day to day access to them. They are also small enough to fit into 3-4 zip discs.

Thanks
Tom

If you're just trying to simplify things by getting plugins and such off the disk when you're not using them, and you want them back quickly when you do want them, and they're too big for a ZIP, I'd think a CD-RW would be appropriate. More disk space is usually a good thing too. I'd drop the idea of the ZIPs if more than one is needed. I have a bias against multi-volume backups.
Is this a good place for an argument?

They are strictly ment as backup since i also will have them on my HD. I`ve choosen to recieve these plugins electronically and all i need is to make a safe reliable backup since i don`t have them on a CD.

The most important criteria is that the backup is reliable for a relative long term storage. I have recently had some problems with 1-2 yr. old CD`s which suddenly refuses to be read (tried them on several machines with the same result).

It is of course impossible to be 100% safe with these things. but i would like to be as safe as possible without having to buy big expensive backup systems.

Thanks
Tom
