I have a Canon Ultura DV camcorder that I use to make videos and stills. However, upon downloading the movies, via firewire to my external firewire drive, it appears to screw up the sound and drop frames when imported through iMovie 1.0.x. I have a 1st generation iMac DV SE. Is this a known problem? Is it only caused in the iMac 1st generation? Is there a fix? My work around is to import to my internal ATA IDE drive in smaller chunks and then move/copy them to my external firewire drive. For movies greater than 30 minutes, this is insane...

Does anyone know anything about this? Does Apple? Any suggestions/places to visit for answers?
