So I want to get a firewire CD-RW and I'm torn between the Yamaha 8X/8X/24X and the Que!Fire 10x/12x/32x. I know the Yamaha is generally regarded as more reliable, but how much of a speed difference is there between 8x vs 12x? Furthermore, is the Que unreliable at 12x because of it's mere 2meg buffer, and will I wind up recording at 10x or 8x on the Que anyway? I've got a G4/400 Sawtooth.

Get the Yamaha...
To tell you the truth, I'd rather have even the Yamaha 6416 than the 10/12/32 Que! drive.
And there is not much difference at all. If you are talking about rewrite speed, then I haven't even seen media capable of more than 4X rewrite.
Not recommended, anyway.
I have the Yamaha 8424 and I rarely ever even use 8X write.
I always do 6 for data, 4 for audio.
And anyway - there is a new Yamaha drive that is something like 16/16/40 or something
