I got this ibook last fall when they came out, have maxed ram to 320, os 9.0.4, and all the latest drivers that I can find. Toast 4.1.2, Q's toast firewire extension, but no matter what I seem to do, the ibook doesn't see the que drive (firewire). it has a Mitsumi mechanism, if that makes any difference. Have tried rebooting in any number of different ways, hot plugging and unplugging, and am not getting anywhere. The que drive seems to work, at least all the appropriate buttons lite up when I insert a cd, and it seems to do what it's supposed to, but I don't have another system to really check it on. Any suggestions would be really appreciated

Update: played with this a bit more, switched ends of the firewire cable, then got the strangest thing I've ever seen in the system profiler. Where before it had seen no firewire device, suddenly i got "fw609e, 10483" in the first box under firewire devices, the box following along the line said, 'sbp609e, 104d8.' Anyone?
