A friend of mine has one of the above that he tries to use on his wintel box. He doesn't know what the mechs. are inside it, but I'm wondering if any of you peripheral experts could tell me if this drive is supported by the new disk burner software. He could then use it on his new Mac when he gets it.

Cheers

Gaffa.

It doesnt look like it is supported by Toast.... http://www.roxio.com/en/jhtml/cdrdat...tml?id=4183249 ... here is the supported list for Apple's Disc Burner... You might want to find out what kind of mechanism it uses....

What model number is it? I just went ot the Freecom website, http://www.freecom.com , and they list the freecom traveler 4420, Mac USB... so if your friend has the same version for the PC, it probably just needs the driver which could be downloaded from Freecom... Also, this looks like the same drive as VST's USB portable CDR, and if it is, then it should work with the Toast software (I have one and it does work with Toast, but haven't been able to get it to work with Disc Burner --- YET)...
