When I attempt to burn MP3's with Toast I am getting this message...
"...is not a sound file or is not in a supported format."
Any ideas on what is going wrong.
If it helps, I am using Version 4.0 (which came with my Iomega ZipCD software)
Thanks.

The only think that I can think of is that what you think is an mp3 isn't actually an mp3 (that is, an mpeg 3 format). Then again, you already knew this by reading the error message. Sorry if this isn't any help .

All I am doing is dragging the MP3 out of i-Tunes and into the audio CD recording section of Toast...
I assumed this is the way to get MP3's onto CD.
Do I have to convert the MP3 to another format before burning?

if youre dragging a bunch of them over at a time, try just one at a time to see which one it is that could be causing the problem. if you do find the one, try just dragging it into toast from your harddrive/desktop/wherever its sitting. can you play the file in itunes (ive heard some things you download from napster or wherever you got the mp3 from arent actually mp3s but other stuff with a .mp3 label tacked on.

Yep - I have just realised i need to convert the mp3's to AIFF - as the Toast version I have is not deluxe, but one that was on the ZIPCD software disc. It is obviously a restricted version that will not convert the MP3's before burning.
Bummer.
Is there any free burning software that will do this?

austeros -
My burner (iomega ZIPCD) is supported but I cannot get i-Tunes (V 1.1) to recognise it.
Any suggestions?
p.s. I am running OS 9.04

That error is probably because you're using the OEM version where only Toast Deluxe does what you want to do.
