Has anyone found a way to connect Apple Pro Speakers to something other than a PowerMac G4 tower (i.e. PowerBook 400)? I'm trying to get around the stupid Apple mini-jack. Thanks

Pro speakers won't work. There's no current hack, AFAIK.
You can get a set of USB speakers like the Sound Sticks or some other brand, or you can get a Griffin iMic and work it with conventional speakers throught the USB port. One advantage of using the iMic is that the max volume on headphones is a HUGE improvement so you can easily listen to your DVDs on a noisy airplane (a common complaint).

Griffin Technologies, makers of the iMic, are also making an all-in-one USB audio solution which will also, apparently, allow use of the Apple Pro Speakers with any USB mic. Check out their website at www.griffintech.com (I think...) The device is called "Powerwave" or something like that. It wasn't out yet last time I checked, but that was 3-4 weeks ago : I ended up getting the iMic instead of waiting for it.
Hope that helps,
Jeff

Just a reminder.
The digital speakers come with a 2.5mm jack. Analog outputs are 3.5 mm on a Mac.
If, for whatever reason, you find a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptor, DO NOT use it, as the analog signal has the potential to damage your speakers quite nicely.
