I would like to purchase an external HD for my G3 350 mhz machine running OS X 10.3. I want to get a USB/FireWire unit and I am wondering if I will be able to boot from it over a FireWire 400 connection. I need it mainly for storage but thought it would be nice if I could actually boot up from it. I would also like input on external drives in general as far as which brands/models might be faster/more compatible/better quality.

Searchs are a pain sometimes… if you are talking about a Power Mac G3 Blue & White I am sorry to say it is unable to boot from an external FireWire hard disk
