Not until the PCI version is released, and even then, I don't now, but theoretically yes
At the moment only the AGP version is available. You're G3 doesn't have AGP...

No AGP in my Beige G3, just PCI. Wanted to try an inexpensive system first, since I am very new to the Mac community. The 6MB of VRAM that came with this system is just not going to cut it for Photoshop.

Thank You for your reply...

you might want to look at the video card upgrade database over on http://www.xlr8yourmac.com where users submit reports, benchmarks, etc.

Beige G3 and depending on ROM revision (A, B or C - you can buy "B" and "C" has fewest problems) has its own unique issues, which is why I skipped Beige and went for B&W (again, rev 1 has problems ironed out in rev 2 model). 3dfx voodoo card you don't have built-in Apple OEM support, but voodoo 3000 might fit your needs. I know the 4500 (both PCI) would except that there are problems on Beige G3s.

There is also a video card forum over on xlr8, upgrading beige g3, etc. Good resource to research before any upgrade etc.

If you can wait, the Radeon PCI might work fine if it fits in your budget. The voodoo 4500 was $149 (32MB SDRAM, check the specs on 3dfx).

Mule, if you aren't trying to do 3D, then you don't really need the Radeon. They Rage128Pro works fine for me. Most new video cards aren't bringing any improvements to the 2D side.

I was gonna say the same thing...I'm not sure exactly how much of a speed boost you'd see on those older models with, say, a Rage128.

I don't really know, though...just a hunch.
