Since I try to connect my old KVM into a PC-Mac I lack for a lot of compatibility issues. I want it to share my PC keyboard and my PC mouse to be use on my Beige G3. My solution was to get a DUO Connect Card since G3 Beige dont have Build-in USB and Firewire. Then I try my old Switch and I just have quite of problems with the USB sharing part.
After looking for products I finally found one that fits my needs, a USB Switch that will work perfect on my Beige G3 with MacOSX. The device is made by www.IOGEAR.com and the part number is GCS124U the price $199, and they have a free shipping right now
I just want to share this info since there are a lot of Beige G3 out there that can be interesting in acquired one of this cool devices. Now I can have my PCs and My Mac together. Thank you

- MiniView II USB KVM Switch
- www.iogear.com
- Works Fine without a driver for either Mac/PC

I use a StarView USB KVM. It works well enough. My only complaint is that it doesn't provide a "linked up" signal to each attached machine when it isn't active. My OS9 box takes 30-40 seconds to recognize the monitor and USB peripherals. The OS X box is much faster at 5-10 seconds. The Win 2K PC comes up in about 5 seconds.

I had compatibility issues with a third-party USB keyboard, but my Apple Pro Keyboard works great. No other compatibility issues.

Bought it a while ago, but I remember it being pretty cheap. Much, much cheaper than the Belkin USB KVM (but I'd bet the Belkin is better).

I also have the StarView USB KVM. I do note some incompatibilities with the Palm Craddle and the SoundSticks. My W2k machine will hang if the SoundSticks are plugged in the switch (not that it is really useful) and classic crashes when I switch from my Mac to my PC if the palm craddle is plugged.

Apple Keyboard works fine, and I used a few MS Intellimouse Explorer with it and works fine.

Mac OS X does have a bug where it resets the mouse config everytime you switch away and come back... really annoying unless you like the default settings.
