Few quick questions about FW enclosure.
1. What is the different between HD, cdrw, HD/cdrw enclosure?
Some manufacturer make 2 models, one for HD, one for cdrw.
2. Will plastic removable HD racks fit inside ADS Pyro Drive? Will the HD overheat?
can I share different HD (brand, size, speed...) inside the one Pyro drive w/o problem?
3. Can I use ide drive (ie. optical, tape) W/O mac driver insdie ADS Pyro Drive?
4. ADS Pyro Drive Stereo Audio Outputs - are they JUST for CD-Audio? is it possible to play mp3 CD? Or even output audio from the mac?
Thanks

I bought a Plextor 12x10x32 with BurnProof
and put it in a ADS Pyro Firewire case.
Works great.

I have a ADS Pyro. You can select the mode by software. Works fine.

For the racks I don't know. for the overheating I dout it because seems to do a good job.

Why not.

Just for CD audio.

...but you can still play files located on the HD and use the computer sound output.
Also, one bad thing noted about ADS Pyro is that it must be unplugged when the drive is turned off. If not, the controller will overheat and the associated firmware will be lost. This stems from poor hardware design. None of my other FW devices behaves like this. This is, however, my only gripe. All in all, the ADS Pyro kit is worth the $.

Regarding 3), tape drives appear to be the one device that will not work with these firewire-IDE bridges.
My OnStream drive is only recognized by the software when directly attached to a direct IDE bus, not through a FireWire or USB adapter.
*that* really sucks. I don't know if it's due to the firmware in the adapter, the OnStream itself, or Retrospect. But Retrospect won't see the drive
