I have recently purchased an MS IntelliMouse Optical for my G3 b/w 450, installed the latest software (IntelliPoint 1.1) but it doesn't work. The light is going on when plugged into the USB port but the cursor is inactive. I have tried different surfaces just in case but no response. Do I need to uninstall the Apple Mouse software or something? My understanding is that I should in fact be able to use more than one mouse if I so desired with USB. Anyone else have this problem or a solution...???

disable ALL other mouse software and the MS 1.1 Intelipoint should work fine. I had similar problems with my Intelimouse Explorer and finally just reverted back to Mac 9.0.4 settings in the extension manager and then disabled the Apple mouse software and enabled the MS software and everythiing works perfectly now. I THOUGHT I had everything disabled before but something was hanging around keeping the Intelipoint 1.1 from becoming active...since it works now I never tried to figure out what it was.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
