I just went upgraded to 9.0.4 from 8.6, and now my Epson won't print- I get a dialogue box saying that the printer is not responding. When I upgraded, I had one extension conflict- ATM interrupted the startup process, so I disabled it with Conflict Catcher. I believe that I have the latest Epson drivers. I think that this topic has come up before, but I can't find it. Thanks for your patience. Ken

wlonh, thanks for the reply...
but my face is kinda red, here...this is my sad story:
i was upgrading the os from 8.6 to 9.0, doing a clean install, and using CC8 to merge systems. while doing the merge, i kept getting an error message,"sorry- a system error occurred. conflict extension, uninterrupted trap" whatever the heck that means. so after restarting about 5 or 6 times, and getting the same problem, i went back to the old system folder (8.6) and went to CC8's faq site, where i read that some people had trouble with system merge when they had usb peripherals plugged into a hub. casady and green recommend unplugging everything except the keyboard and mouse. so i did that. restarted again in 9.0 and tried the system merge, and got the same error message. restarted again in 8.6, and went to apple's downloads, downloaded 9.0.4,(12 and something mb's. with my connection speed here in rural big island hawaii, had time to eat dinner, take a shower, and read the newspaper. might as well be using the old hand-cranked modem, instead of the iMac internal). restarted again in 9.0, installed 9.0.4, tried the system merge again, and voila, worked like a charm, except for that little problem with ATM that i mentioned earlier. boy, i love CC8. it sits there on my hard drive, day in and day out, doing nothing, but when i need it, it really works! plugged my macally hub with the printer connected back into the iMac's usb port, and tried to print- no joy. that's when i posted.then while rooting around on my desk, (which my wife calls The Landfill, i don't know why...give me four hours, and i can put my hands on exactly the item i need... i uncovered the hub itself, which was buried under, well... some stuff. lots of stuff. and noticed that the led's weren't on. yup. didn't have it shoved into the usb port all the way. a little more pressure, and voila!printing. but did throw away the extensions that you recommended tossing. thanks again for your help. i'll try not to be so retarded, in the future. ken
