I read a few comments on macfixit.com about some incompatibilities between the 17" flat-panel and the Cube ...
Are-you aware of such a problem ? Do you have a cube with a 17" Apple LCD and does it work fine ?
I have a cube myself and thinking about upgrading my CRT to LCD ...
Thank you !

That's my set-up. I've had no issues. Works great. My Cube is a first-generation cube, not one the later models (that had a cd-rw option).

I wish I could tell you, but I do own a 15" display, and it works great. If the 17" option does not really work out for you, then it is very possible to go for the 15" considering it's ultra-low price and its durability.

I have a cube and an Apple 17 inch display.
The display is wonderful (amazing!, super!, etc....) except for one thing - it is
incompatible with the cube speakers. That is, you cannot plug the cube speakers
into the 17 inch display - you have to plug them into the cube. That wouldn't be
an issue except for the darned short cable. But that, as far as I know, is the only
"incompatibility."
Now, one thing that's interesting - the 17 display came out after the cube,
so they had to have known of this issue, but they didn't deal with it, so I think
it's safe to say Apple knew they were going to kill the cube a long time before
they actually did so.
So go ahead and get a 17" display for your cube - you will love it so long
as you don't insist on plugging the speakers into the display. In every other
way it's an "insanely great" combo.

Hi Ph.D.
I have a first generation Cube and a flat 17" with the speakers connected on the display and I have no problems so far!
Have you tested it!? What kind of problems did you experience!?
Best,

I am looking forwards to buying my 17" screen and I think I will choose the Apple one ... maybe they will refresh their lineup at Macworld in January ?
Thanks all for your comments

I don't have a cube, so don't quote me on this, but I seem to remember hearing of problems with the 17inch with a radeon graphics card. Maybe (hopefully) someone can tell me I'm wrong.
