I cannot figure out how to password protect my wireless connection. I have a Netgear DG834G wireless router. The connection works great but I've just moved into a residential area and need to restrict access or the whole neighbourhodd will be using my connection!

The security options are shown in the attached screen shot but I have no idea what to do or what will happen if I click one of the security options other than disable.

Some help would be great.

Did it come with a manual? Perhaps you can download one from Netgear's website? That should tell you how to set it up. Otherwise someone who knows that model will have to answer your question.

FYI from that screenshot it looks like you router can also do WPA, which is better than WEP.

p.s. This is a topic best suited for the Networking forum.
