I have a beige G3 with a 2 port USB card installed into one of its PCI slots. It is working fine right now with an MS intellimouse explorer and Gravis Gamepad Pro. Will an Asante USB hub work with it?

Also, will a USB CD-RW drive work well with it? I'm not sure if I should go for a cheaper, slower USB CD writer, or an old-style SCSI one.

There is no reason why a Hub will not work with your USB/PCI card.

As for the CD/RW drive.. SCSI will be way better/faster than USB on your computer. I think Yamaha make some good inexpensive SCSI CD burners that you might want to check out.

I'll second that. If you have SCSI, use that for CD burning. For about the same price as a
USB burner, you can get a SCSI burner that is at least twice as fast, maybe even more. Plus, SCSI is not as limited in bandwidth as USB. The more you plug into USB, the slower it goes when several of them are in use.
