And it's bee-yoo-ti-ful! For giggles, went over to the Apple Support sight. Lots of people complaining about a "whine" in their iPods. Any of you have this? I don't. I believe them; I'm just trying to get a feel for how many people may have this problem.

Quit bitching about the price...
I bought one right away and love this amazing little box. Worth every penny, IMO.
Got it hooked up to my car stereo(had to get an RCA input adapter from Pioneer), now no more suitcase full of CD's.
When I get tired of one or more of the 70-odd cd's on the 'Pod, it takes almost no time to replace it/them from my duallie. I just wish I could sync to both my home and work machine.
I have noticed no whine from mine, I can hear the HD if I put it up to my ear.

My wife got me one for Christmas. Actually she asked me what I wanted, but since she's not a computer person (read: ludite) she told me to go out and get it. I went to the Apple Store at Tice's Corner (Woodcliff Lake, NJ), bought it, took it out of the box, and gave the empty box to wifey-poo to wrap. "No presents until Christmas!" is her rule. "Yes, dear. You're right dear," was my reply. Meanwhile I have my iPod and she has a wrapped empty box to keep her happy.
I'll have some explaining to do on Christmas Day, but she'll be too enthralled with her present (jewelry) to put up much of a fuss. Meanwhile, this thing is amazing! Music, data, whatever, all in your pocket. I'd have paid MORE for it, its just so cool.

Just got mine Thursday. Loaded it up friday morning. I work where you can listen to music all day.
7:00AM to 8:00AM
Then a thirty minute breakfast break
8:30 until 11.00AM
Then 30 minute break
1l:30AM to 1:00PM
Then 30 minute lunch break
1:00PM to 3:05PM
Then 25 minute break
Clock off and go home.
Hey I never said I really worked 8 hours.
iPod used for 7 hours
Still had 3 of 4 bars showing (Battery indicator)
MP3 envy from all who saw the iPod. I only have 629 songs with 1.6 gigs left so many are bringing in cd's to work tomorrow to help fill it to the top.
They were all complaining about commercials listening to the Oldies station today. I had 63 oldies and showed them the song list. About 70% of the songs I had were what had been played today.
God I love Apple.
