Has any one had problems with these 2 getting along? I was using OS 8.6 on a PM6100/66, 72Mb with no problems. When I connected my new Epson 740 and installed the software I get crashes opening programs, attempting to print or sometimes opening files within programs. I realize this is probably an extension conflict. Even the base OS8.6 extension set has these problems. I am using Quicktime 4.0 and ATM 4.0. Is anyone aware of any known conflicts here.

Delete the Epson USB Print Class extensions. These files are unnecessary and problematic.

Sorry I should have mentioned that I did delete the USB extensions but still have the same results.

How are you connecting to the printer?

I assume you are using the serial printer port.

If you are, and the print driver installation is installing the USB extensions, then you may have the wrong version of the driver.

Check the Epson web site for the non-USB version.

Thanks for your replies. I have now solved the problem.
The Epson USB Print Class extensions were the cause. Although I deleted them before I posted to this forum, I already had several crashes which I believe corrupted the print drivers. The solution was to reinstall the drivers and immediately delete the USB extensions.
Now I am very happy with this printer.

Thanks again for your help.

Tony
