I'm having problems burning audio CD's. I'm using a Lacie 4x4x24 USB Lacie drive attached to a iMac Rev. C running Mac OS 9.0.4 (I have made all the updates necessary to this system). I'm using Toast Deluxe 4.1 and when burning a audio CD from MP3 or AIFF files after 1 minute approximately Toast returns me the following error message: "The drive reported an error: Sense Key = ILLEGAL REQUEST Sense Code = 0x21 BUFFER UNDERRUN". This does not occur when using Toast 4.0.1.1 the one that came on the Lacie recording utilities CD, the only problem is that this way I can't make a number of this which I can do with Toast 4.1. Also in order to be able to read rewritable CD's with Toast 4.1 I had to remove the Toast USB support extension from the extensions folder and substitute it by the previous version Toast USB support and the Lacie Bridge extensions. I noticed to that by unplugging the zip drive, burning audio CD's with Toast 4.1 works fine.

Thanks

I was haveing that problem too I was trying to burn at 4x's and it would always do that so I tried at 2x's and now there are no problems. I have a 233 imac os 9.04 running toast 4.1 and I have the same LaCie burner. I can burn everything at 4x's except audio.

Hello, Shmerek. Well I'm glad I have found someone that has similar hardware, except for the iMac version, mine is the 266MHz, and similar problems. All dough I would prefer not to have them. I'd like to know if you have a zip 100 drive to, attached to the keyboard and if the Lacie drive is connected to the second USB port on the iMac, and finally if you are using Toast Deluxe 4.1 you must have changed the Toast USB Support and the Toast USB LaCie Bridge extensions to the previous versions 1.3.1. That is because I couldn't read rewritable disks with the 4.1 extensions version.

Thanks for your reply to my post.

I don't have a zip connected to my computer but I do have a superdisk connected through the keboard. The burner is connected to the second usb port. I don't know if this will help but I have the USBLaCieDiskDriver & USBLaCieDiskUTDriver version 1.1, Toast USB support 2.0.1 and I don't know about the bridge thing. It reads cdrws as well and ya it is toast deluxe not the one that was on the disk. I still get the error if I burn audio at 4x's so I have resigned to burning them at 2x's. Hope that helps.
