After I got my iPod I found that the most efficient way to sync up my music (I have over 6 gigs) was to make several playlists. Most of the playlists would simply be normal playlists. However, I made one of them for the sole purpose of seeing how much space all my mp3's would take up. All it is is a playlist that contains every song I'll put on my iPod. If I want to edit a playlist I only use songs from the master playlist, and so on.

My concern is, my iPod and my master playlist both list 1019 songs (as of the last time I hooked it up). The difference is, my master playlist says I've got 3.6 gigs of space for 1019 songs, my iPod says I've got 4.3 gigs of space for the same number of songs. What's going on? Is it somehow duplicating all of the songs from my other playlists? Does anybody have any ideas?
